Over the years, Malton transformed from a small village to a thriving town with a growing Muslim community. The influx of Muslim families in the 70s created a close-knit village atmosphere where everyone felt like family. However, as the community expanded, the need for dedicated spaces arose. With the increasing demand, a regular prayer area and community services became essential.
The growth led to the booking of Jumuah and special prayers at the Community Centre, while daily prayers initially took place at the Malton Musallah. In June 2011, the opening of the Masjid became a significant milestone, providing a central place for prayers and community gatherings. To cater to the children’s needs, an after-school Madresa and a Hifz program were initiated, along with the Malton Youth Club for sports activities every Saturday.
Despite the progress, the transition from a village to a town is ongoing. The community envisions more programs, activities, classes, and increased involvement from all members. The construction of the Masjid is seen as a catalyst for future growth and the renewal of the Malton Muslim Community. Inshallah, the journey continues towards a stronger and more vibrant community.
